A Fall Filled Weekend

Hello Friends,
I hope you all had a wonderful fall weekend! My weekend started with a Kindergarten class trip to a local farm for a hayride and pumpkin picking. My group consisted of three very excited boys and two very quiet and polite little girls...need I say more?

The boys took turns on the bus pretending to be dead, tongue hanging out, eyes rolling to the back of the head. I asked my son if all dead people have their tongues hanging out and I was informed that it's only when they drink poison. So now you know:)

Sunday we attempted the local corn maze but once again we never found the exit. This year we brought along my brother in-law and he stuck it out with the two older boys and they did eventually get close.

Then we trooped on over to Johnson's Farm. It should really be called Johnson's Circus because between the amount of things they have going on and the amount of people they have doing these things, it's just like a circus! But really, if you live close, it's truly a wonderful place to celebrate fall. We took another hayride and picked some pumpkins, looked at sheep and goats and got really, really dirty. My 16 month old nephew Cooper must have inhaled a pound of dust due to the amount of face plants he did. The weather was absolutely perfect, cool but not so cold that you couldn't move your fingers. It was a great day!

I'm so happy I decorated the living room for Halloween! I ended up having to move everything from my studio in there pending construction...which starts today!!! I'm so excited. Maybe he iwill let me do some demo work! I'd love to smash something.

I thought I would share a few pictures of my strange little house. Originally when we bought this house I was 9 months pregnant and desperate to get out of our tiny one bedroom apartment. So this was to be our 5 year home but over the years (9 years later)it has grown on me and I no longer see it as "The Brady Bunch" house I once did. It has an odd exterior but I have tried my best to make it ours with gardening and paint.

Here is our front porch that we decorate for almost every holiday. (click to get a closer look at my "Pimple Pumpkin") Notice the chalkboard on the wall? It's really an old cabinet door that I painted with chalkboard paint. It's great for Holiday messages or just a welcoming greeting. My favorite is "Welcome to the Nut House." Very appropriate for us.

Here is a sneak peek at some Christmas ornaments I am working on for Spooky Time Jingles.

Have a great week!!!

Ha! That is a great picture the three of them asleep:) I have yet to attempt the corn maze for fear of suddenly having to to the restroom and getting stuck.I heard that one year a lady went into labor out at the one we go to.
Lovely decorations...one of these days i;ll get more disciplined and do some proper decorating!
