Remember all of the before and after pictures from two posts ago?
Sigh.
On Friday after school, the boys and I took a trip to the library for an hour. We came home to the house covered in 2" to 4" of water.
EVERYWHERE!
The flexible tube that runs from the wall to the toilet broke and water was shooting out like a geyser for probably about an hour.
My wonderful neighbor ran over with his shop-vac and sucked up about 80+ gallons but the damage was done.
One week old carpet, ruined.
One year old wood floors, ruined.
Two day old new furniture in the boy's rooms, ruined.
A crew came to the house at 8:30 that night and ripped everything out.
We are now living in the family room , the only room that didn't get wet, with tons of big dry air fans and huge de-humidifiers.
It's 89 degrees and windy in here!
I'm in the process of trying to find some of the other furniture that was damaged online.
I'm so frustrated. We just talked the other day about how we have lived here for 10 1/2 years and finally everthing is done. All the carpets have been replaced, all new furniture, all paint.
The restoration crew is coming today to see if the sheet rock can be saved.
Please, please be saved!
We have a ranch style house with no basement so the water just spread everywhere.
my studio.
livingroom.
foyer.
foyer with big fans.
big de-humidifier.
On the bright side, we have wonderful neighbors, family and friends!!

I am so sorry, Things will get better sending hugs and prayers.
Oh I am so sorry! That must be so frustrating. You have to remind yourself though...it's only carpet, wood, etc. It can all be replaced. Thank goodness it is just your home that was damaged and not a loved one! I always tell myself that when something awful like that happens and it makes me feel a little better~ Good luck getting it all together and try to count your blessings.
OH NO!!! That is so horrible and after all your hard work.
I don't know what to say, other than I'm glad you are blessed with such great friends and neighbours.
Sending you a big hug.

Tracy! How awful! Going to the library should not be so dangerous! I hope it can be restored quickly!
Oh Tracy. I am absolutely sick for you. They say everything happens for a reason...but this I just do NOT get! So sorry. Wish I could help.
Man, this really sucks. I wish I was there. I'd be a good neighbor.
At times like this, all you can do, dear one, is keep on keepin' on...til you get back to normal. Look ahead fearless Tracy. You can do this one!
Oh, I have so much empathy for you! A year ago, pipes broke in our ceiling, floding much of our house. Your pictures look all too familiar! So sorry and hope you're back to your home-sweet-homeness asap!
How horrible that you are going through this & I hope by now, that things are much better! That is a terrible ordeal. Who would think that after 10+ years in a house, that such a thing would happen!
Yes, thank God for wonderful neighbors, family and friends! I wish you a wonderful weekend.
