Yay for Fall!

Fun with leaves and blue tape!

Hello Friends,

I hope you are enjoying the fall weather as much as I am. Crisp cool mornings, breezy sunny afternoons, leaves falling from the trees. I love the change of seasons but I think fall has to be my favorite. I just love all of the decorating possibilities! I started putting a few things up in the beginning of the month but I have lots of plans and I will share the pictures with you as soon as I'm finished.

The art show I told you about was ok. Not great but not horrible. It rained for a few hours but I still made a few sales and got a lot of positive feedback. There were a bunch of lovely Etsy NJ artists so it was nice to put faces to the names. I'm still not sure if shows are the thing for me but I think I will give it another try. Thanks again to my sister for coming with me even though she was sick with bronchitis. She's the best! I will post pictures of my set up as soon as I get them from my photographer (also my sis).

Here are four little 4x6 paintings that will be in my shop hopefully this evening. They have little twine hangers attached so you can hang them wherever you want. They are done in acrylics on wood with vintage text and a yummy bees wax finish. I have to say they are so much cuter in person...plus they smell nice! These pictures were taken pre-bees wax.

So now that the show craziness is over, I feel like I can finally get into the groove of a schedule. I NEED a schedule to keep me sane. Do you? I'm a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl, but I always feel a little bit off center when I'm all over the place. My mom wasn't big on schedules when I was growing up so it's been a challenge for me to initiate them for myself and my kids. Wish me luck!

Arts in the Park

Hello Friends,
If you've been wondering where I've been, and even if you haven't, I have been getting things together for my first official show. Getting art ready, tagging, putting together displays, making banners and signs...I never realized it would take me this long. But I figure the next shows I do should be a piece of cake since I will only have to concentrate on my art.
So if you live in the South Jersey area and you are looking for something to do tomorrow, stop on by. I'm in booth #2 and I'd love to see you!

Speaking of art, now that the boys are in school all day, sniff sniff, I am getting a lot more finished. So the shop will be stocked up with all kinds of goodies after the show and I will be adding more paintings on a weekly basis. Yay for painting!

Here is a picture of my messy studio that will be getting an overhaul next week.

When I ran out of table space, I moved to the floor...

I bought new shelves and a cute little chandelier that I plan on painting pink. I just hope I don't electrocute myself in the process of installing it;)

Well, I'm off to pack up everything for the show. Wish me luck, rain is in the forecast and it's an outdoor show:( I will share lots of pictures and the Do's and Dont's that I will be learning.
Hopefully I won't have too many dont's!

Enjoy your day!!

Want to Take a Trip?

You do? Do you like old things? How about reeeeeealy old things? Do you like the way they smell? Me too...earthy and moldy and full of the past.
Follow me!

We are at the Architectural Exchange in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia.

Let's go in, shall we?

Let's check out the first floor...

Are you in need of a fine wood bar?

How about a handsome Saint?

Wouldn't our cranberry lemonade look delicious in this?

This would look lovely in your boudoir!

Wouldn't this be wonderful in the breakfast nook? No? You have to use your imagination!

Let's go upstairs, I hear they have lovely things up there...

Ooooh, how about her for the garden?

If you had her, I bet you would go to church more often;)

Let's look at the windows, my favorite!

I love the colors in this one...

amazing detail...

The Chandelier Maker

Very pretty!

You're ready to go? Ok, step through the door.

Did you hear them? The ladies are saying goodbye!

Goodbye girls, see you again soon!

Welcome Back...

To school, that is.
Today was the first day of school for most of the kids in the North East. I know...we start late. But think of us when we are still in school at the end of June:)
The weather couldn't have been better for the back to school mood. Cool 70's during the day and 50's at night. Great for sleeping!

Jake started middle school today. Sometimes I wonder if Jake is really my son. He went from a school with about 400 kids to a school of about 2,000 and didn't flinch. I would have been up all night, possibly vomiting. I'm so glad he didn't inherit my neurotic gene.

I don't think Alex is so lucky.

He did great but a few tears were shed (not mine this time) when the bus pulled up. But his first words when he hopped off of the bus were, "I loved it!" so I think tomorrow will be perfect.

By the way, he thinks his sneakers are totally cool:)

My fabulous photographer/Sister took some photos of my latest pieces for the show.

Here they are...

I just love this little truck. It came from the same bag of loot the blocks I used for the houses came out of. I have a train I am working on now...so cute!

This piece is a vintage wood box that I bought at the Goodwill store.

Don't forget about my shop update tomorrow night!
See details below:)
Enjoy!
